Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Coach Keani was a four-year varsity player.

She was widely considered one of the top guards in the nation. She was nominated for the 2011 McDonald's All-America team. As a senior, she led Buena to the CIF-Southern Section Division 2AA and CIF Division II So Cal Regional finals. She was chosen as Star's Girls Basketball Player of the Year and was also named All-County, All-Channel League first team and All-CIF Division III first team.

After graduation, Coach Keani accepted a full athletic scholarship to Gonzaga University, where her team achieved multiple top-25 rankings with appearances in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Sports Management and then went overseas to play professionally, for five years with stops in China, Greece, Switzerland and Egypt.

Despite being busy with her playing career, Albanez has found time to build a successful basketball training academy as well as serve as a health and fitness coach. She worked as a Program Director at Page Youth Center, and was able to grow her academy throughout her time there running clinics, camps and the biggest youth league in Santa Barbara reaching over hundreds of kids in the 805 community.

Keani's official coaching career started 2019 were she became the first woman in Santa Barbara history to be on staff of a men's college program. She coached as Head Assistant for Santa Barbara City College men's basketball program 2020-21. She's the second female assistant on a men's basketball squad in the Western State Conference, one of only a handful in state history. Albanez has recently been Inducted into the Santa Barbara Court of Champions Hall of Fame, 2022 for her accolades as a player and her contribution to the basketball community.

Albanez has currently accepted her first Head coaching position at Oaks Christian High School as the girls basketball coach. Her story is still being written ....
